I collect one thing: your email address, and only if you give it to me by subscribing.

I use it for one thing: sending you The Saturday Review. I don't sell it, rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone for marketing. There's no advertising on this site and no data broker in the background.

Where it lives. This site runs on Ghost, and your email address is stored on Ghost's servers. The newsletter itself is delivered through Ghost's email provider. Both are processing that address on my behalf, for the purpose of getting the letter to your inbox, and nothing else.

What else gets recorded. Ghost keeps basic analytics — how many people opened a post, roughly where visitors came from. I look at it to know whether anything I write is landing. It isn't tied to you by name and I don't try to work out who individual readers are.

Leaving. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, and you're off the list. If you'd rather I deleted your address entirely, email me and I'll do it — you don't need to give me a reason.

Cookies. Ghost sets what it needs to keep you signed in if you're a member. There's no tracking pixel from an ad network, because there's no ad network.

If any of this changes, I'll update this page and say so in the letter rather than changing it quietly.
